Saturday Spent on Two Wheels
Last weekend, our SkyLabs Racing Team participated in the Marathon around Pohorje, a traditional cycling event in our city. The Marathon unites cycling enthusiasts for whom pedaling is a way of life, offering opportunities for recreation and socializing with like-minded individuals.
Organized by the Cycling Club Branik Maribor, this year marked the 44th edition of the Pohorje Cycling Marathon. Following the idea of former president of the Cycling Club Branik, Lojze Fajdiga, the first marathon around Pohorje took place on June 24, 1979, dedicated to the memory of the fallen fighters of the Pohorje Battalion. This event holds the distinction of being the oldest recreational cycling event in our country.

While the inaugural marathon in 1979 covered a distance of 150 kilometers long, this year's edition featured four different routes: 147 km, 72 km, 50 km and 30 km. Filled with adrenaline and excitement, our team participated in the 147 km and 72 km routes, traversing the picturesque trails of Pohorje, conquering challenging uphill climbs and exhilarating downhill descents.
Our Racing Team not only left a mark in the race, but also showcased dedication, teamwork and perseverance. Saturday was about more than just reaching the finish line; it was a shared journey they embarked upon together!
